Editor’s Note: On Thursday March 8th, 2012, OppenheimerFunds’ CEO Bill Glavin delivered the below remarks at Madison Square Garden.
Good evening and welcome to OppenheimerFunds’ seventh BIG EAST Tournament reception at Madison Square Garden. I’m Bill Glavin, CEO of OppenheimerFunds, and on behalf of our Sales and Marketing teams, I want to thank you all for joining us tonight.
As you may know, OppenheimerFunds has been a long-term partner of the BIG EAST Conference. We are honored to be a sponsor of this prestigious event. It affords us the opportunity to partner with an organization that, like OppenheimerFunds, is committed to greatness and aligns with our own corporate values: excellence, integrity, collaboration and passion.
At the center of our relationship with the BIG EAST is the OppenheimerFunds/ BIG EAST Coach of the Year award. Tonight, we’re honoring Coach Stan Heath of the University of South Florida, who was named Coach of the Year earlier this week. We applaud the critical role that Coach Heath has played in developing skills that will ensure his team’s success on and off the court.
Later, during a timeout in tonight’s first game, we will be making a $10,000 contribution to the University of South Florida, in Coach Heath’s honor.
On behalf of everyone at OppenheimerFunds, welcome again and thank you for joining us as we celebrate our partnerships and enjoy the greatest college basketball tournament in the greatest arena in the world!
